Executive Director, Retail & SME Banking

Eugene Ocansey is a seasoned banking executive with over two decades of experience in retail, personal, and private banking within Ghana’s financial services sector. He is highly regarded for his strategic leadership, strong track record in driving portfolio growth, and advancing digital transformation to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.

Before his appointment as Executive Director for Retail & SME Banking at Access Bank (Ghana) Plc, Eugene served as Acting Head of Personal and Private Banking at Stanbic Bank. In that role, he led strategic direction and delivered growth across deposits, lending, and wealth management portfolios.

Eugene has consistently delivered sustainable business growth, improved profitability, and strengthened customer engagement. He has led customer-centric transformations that have significantly enhanced service delivery, increased customer satisfaction, and driven improvements in market share, client acquisition, and digital channel adoption.

Throughout his career, he has held key leadership roles across client coverage, sales, and branch management, demonstrating expertise in strategic planning, financial management, and people development. He is recognized for building high-performing teams, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including high-net-worth clients and regulators.

Eugene holds an Executive MBA in Marketing from the University of Ghana Business School and a BSc in Tourism from the University of Cape Coast. He has also attended executive programmes at globally renowned institutions, including Cambridge, Oxford, and Henley Business School.
