Pearl Nkrumah

Ms Pearl Nkrumah is a consummate banker with nearly two and a half decades of multinational banking experience across Africa, Europe and Asia. 

Before joining Access Bank as Executive Director in 2022, Pearl began her banking career at Standard Chartered Bank, where she worked from 1998 to 2012. She subsequently joined Stanbic Bank in 2012, where she held various leadership positions within commercial and business banking. Across these roles, she has driven customer-centric innovation, strengthened SME ecosystems, and championed financial inclusion. Pearl also plays a key role in corporate governance. 

Pearl serves as a Non-Executive member and Chairperson of the Council of Ghana Stock Exchange, representing listed companies. She is an active member of several strategic committees, including the Listing, Finance & Audit, and Demutualisation Committees. In addition to her executive and board responsibilities, Pearl provides strategic guidance as an advisory member to several organisations, including Access Bank’s Learning & Advisory Board, the Banking Transformation Africa Summit, Ghana Women of the Year Honours and the Mastercard Foundation’s BRIDGE-in-Agric Programme.

She holds an MBA in Business Administration and a B.Sc. in Administration (Marketing) from the University of Ghana, Legon, and an LL.B. from GIMPA. She has a Diploma in Corporate Governance from the Corporate Governance Institute (UK) and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, Ghana (ACIB).

Pearl has also completed executive leadership programmes at the Harvard Business School and The Boardroom Africa, among others. She is a thought leader on women's empowerment and an advocate for inclusive finance.
